To support our mission, we're looking for a talented Product Marketing Manager to help us drive promotion of Apify’s universal scrapers (Actors) used by developers.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategy for universal scrapers (Website Content Crawler, Cheerio Scraper, Puppeteer Scraper, etc.) that are used by thousands of customers across the globe to feed LLMs, create RAG pipelines for Agents, and power complex workflows.

  • Collaborate closely with the Product Manager and the Engineering team to shape the product roadmap, maintain technical accuracy, and identify growth opportunities.

  • Conduct deep competitive analysis and intelligence gathering to identify positioning opportunities and threats for Apify’s universal scrapers.

  • Develop and execute campaigns that clearly differentiate Apify's universal scrapers from competitor offerings.

  • Create technical content, comparison charts, battle cards, and proof points that resonate with developer audiences evaluating scraping solutions.

  • Conduct customer and developer research to uncover pain points, use cases, and opportunities for adoption and retention.

  • Measure and report on the performance of product marketing initiatives, campaign performance, win/loss rates, and iterate based on data.

  • Collaborate with other PMMs, share learnings, and contribute to improving team processes and marketing frameworks across clusters.

  • Monitor the competitive landscape continuously, providing early warning of new threats and opportunities.

  • Educate internal teams on competitive positioning to ensure consistent messaging across all customer touchpoints.

They say there are no perfect candidates, but you might be the one if you have:

  • You have 5+ years of experience in product marketing or developer marketing at a B2B or B2D technology company with a strong developer focus and a product-led growth (PLG) model, serving a technical audience.

  • You have a solid technical foundation - you're comfortable talking about APIs, SDKs, automation, webhooks, or headless browsers. You understand complex technical topics and can turn them into clear and relatable marketing stories for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • You have a proven track record of developing and executing successful GTM and product marketing strategies, from user research and competitive analysis to compelling messaging, positioning and go-to-market plans to optimization.

  • You're passionate about web scraping, automation, and the latest AI advancements and how they provide greater value for users, staying current with the latest API and AI trends.

  • You are a strategic thinker who knows how to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment, focusing on the integration opportunities that will have the most significant impact.

  • You have experience in creating buying committees for tech products, helping with prospecting workflows, and creating ABM campaigns.

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Any technical background and experience in the integrations space is a big plus, either in formal third-level education or in the trenches of another tech company.

What we expect from you in the first 6 months:

You'll start as an individual contributor within Apify's Universal Scrapers team. Your first goal is to become a productive contributor - familiar with our products, use cases, and customers. You'll do that by working on your one, three, and six-month goals below.

This role requires regular communication with multiple stakeholders and teams across the company. Your onboarding should be spent mostly in the Prague office to meet the team.

By the end of the 1st month, we expect you to:

  • Complete the general onboarding process.

  • Build your own Actor (or integrate an existing one) to learn the Apify platform and products you are expected to market from a user's perspective.

  • Know all the relevant stakeholders through 1on1 meetings.

  • Review our current customer journey and have at least five calls with customers for Website Content Crawler. The goal is to identify the most popular and in-demand use cases.

  • Know the most successful use cases for universal scrapers, in and out, and can demo a workflow in a popular integration.

  • You know where to find and how to interpret data on retention, # of users, and revenue for universal scrapers, so you can answer questions like: which customer segments retain the best? Which integration helped generate the most revenue for universal scrapers?

  • You're familiar with three different pricing models in Apify.

  • You know how PMM team works, how we collaborate within marketing team and also other teams outside of marketing.

By the end of the first 4 months, we expect you to:

  • Conduct a comprehensive competitive landscape analysis of the web content capture industry to identify key differentiators, market positioning opportunities, and threat assessment.

  • Engage with prospects who evaluated competitors to understand decision criteria, create a win/loss analysis framework, and develop competitive sales battlecards.

  • Create a competitive positioning presentation for the sales team, including technical comparison charts, proof points, and objection handling.

  • Analyze current acquisition channels for universal scrapers and propose new channels targeting developers switching from competitors.

  • Publish technical comparison content (blog posts, documentation) comparing the advantages of universal scrapers over alternatives, optimized for developer search queries.

  • Establish partnerships with developer advocates and technical influencers for competitive messaging amplification.

From month 4 onwards, we expect you to:

  • Drive universal scraper adoption with a competitive win rate improvement of at least 15% against tracked opportunities.

  • Establish a comprehensive competitive tracking dashboard including market share metrics, feature parity analysis, and revenue impact from competitive campaigns.

  • Execute 3-4 major competitive marketing activities, including webinar series, technical content campaigns, and developer community engagement initiatives.
