Freelance Peninsular Spanish Localization Specialist / Language Expert
We are ROUVY, a leader in the augmented reality indoor cycling world, connecting riders globally with immersive virtual routes. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Native Peninsular Spanish Localization Specialist to join our team on a long-term freelance basis. Your mission is to ensure our Spanish content is impeccable, linguistically consistent, and culturally spot-on for our audience in Spain.
Your primary focus will be on elevating the quality of content across the entire ROUVY platform (app, website, and user portal), specifically targeting Peninsular Spanish (Spanish from Spain).
Scope of Work:
Localization & Quality Assurance: Translate, proofread, and edit texts for the ROUVY app, website, and rider portal, ensuring impeccable linguistic quality, cultural relevance, and consistency in Peninsular Spanish.
Terminology Management: Crucially, lead the development and ongoing maintenance of the official Spanish Glossary and Style Guide, establishing linguistic standards for the brand.
Linguistic Consultation: Collaborate closely with our Localization and Product Content teams to ensure a unified and user-friendly experience across all touchpoints.
Proactively suggest improvements to phrasing, tone, and UX copy, focusing on providing the best possible user experience, not just error correction.
Requirements:
Native Speaker of Peninsular Spanish: This is a mandatory requirement. You must have complete, native-level command of Spanish as spoken in Spain (Peninsular Spanish / español peninsular).
Cycling Expertise: A strong understanding of the cycling environment, terminology, and culture is essential. Being an active ROUVY user who knows the app from a rider’s perspective is a significant advantage.
Professional Experience: Proven experience in localization, translation, editing, or copywriting.
Detail-Oriented: Exceptional writing and proofreading skills, with a keen sensitivity to tone, style, and brand consistency.
Autonomy: A self-driven, proactive individual capable of managing a weekly workload independently.
Experience with TMS tools (i.e. Localazy) or UX writing principles is a strong plus.
Details of the Collaboration:
Type: Long-term Freelance contract.
Commitment: Approximately 10–16 hours per week (part-time, flexible).
