Performance Marketing Manager
Apify's mission is to help people get more value from the web. How? We believe that humans have better things to do than fill in forms, compile Excel sheets of copy-pasted data, or search social media for hashtags. Those are jobs for a machine.
Apify collects billions of rows of data from all over the world for science, market research, or finding lost children. We make it possible for AI chatbots to interact intelligently, and we're actively involved in developing novel ways to work with AI agents and MCP. But we have a story that’s bigger than just "scraping.”
We're looking for a Performance Marketing Manager to drive the execution and optimization of our paid growth engine. We need someone who combines analytical rigor with creative experimentation to acquire high-value users - from solo developers to enterprise AI teams.
You'll be the hands-on owner of our ad campaigns across Google, LinkedIn, and beyond. You'll manage significant budgets, relentlessly optimize for ROI, and translate our complex technical capabilities into ads that click with a demanding developer audience.
What you’ll be working on:
Manage and scale our global paid acquisition engine across Google Ads, LinkedIn, Meta, and niche developer channels (like Reddit or newsletters). You'll be accountable for keeping our budget on track and hitting our CPA targets.
Translate complex technical features into high-converting campaigns. You'll work with the Content and Design teams to turn product updates (like new Actors or integration capabilities) into ad creatives that developers actually click on; avoiding "marketing fluff" in favor of technical utility.
Own the experimentation roadmap for your channels. You won't just set it and forget it; you'll consistently A/B test ad copy, visuals, and audiences to lower our CAC and increase conversion volume.
Optimize the full funnel, not just the click. You'll collaborate closely with the Web and Product Marketing teams to improve landing page experiences and CRO, ensuring that the traffic you buy actually turns into active users.
Dive deep into campaign data to uncover insights that others miss. You'll monitor key metrics (ROAS, LTV, Activated Users) and report to the Head of Performance with clear, actionable recommendations on where to double down and where to cut spend.
Scout and test new advertising frontiers. While you master the core channels, you'll also allocate a portion of your time/budget to testing emerging platforms or tactics, so Apify maintains a competitive edge in the market.
Work hand-in-hand with the Head of Performance to align your campaigns with the broader growth strategy. You'll execute the tactical roadmap that supports major product launches, seasonal events, and our long-term revenue goals.
Who we’re looking for:
You have 5+ years of experience in performance marketing, preferably at a high-growth B2B SaaS or technology company with a technical audience. Experience with the US market is highly preferred.
You are a "full-stack” marketer who blends art and science. You don't just obsess over spreadsheets and CPA; you also have the creative intuition to spot a winning hook or visual before the data comes in.
You’ve got a knack for translating complex technical concepts (like scraping infrastructure, proxies, or AI agents) into crisp, high-converting ads. You know that developers respond to utility and technical accuracy, not marketing fluff.
Google Ads, LinkedIn, Meta - you know them inside out, but you're also an explorer. You're constantly testing new frontiers - whether that's Reddit ads, newsletter sponsorships, or emerging channels to find where our audience hangs out.
You possess a ruthless mindset for experimentation. You know how to design valid A/B tests for creatives and landing pages, and you know when to kill a losing campaign quickly to reallocate budget to winners.
You look beyond the click. You are deeply analytical and understand the full funnel—from the first impression to the final conversion - using data to optimize for LTV and ROAS, not just vanity metrics.
You're comfortable working with designers, developers, and content teams. You can brief a designer on the creative you need, troubleshoot tracking pixels with developers, and coordinate with the content team on messaging that actually converts.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. You can explain complex campaign performance data to stakeholders without getting lost in the weeds.
A technical background is a massive plus. Whether you have a CS degree or just love tinkering with code/APIs in your spare time, understanding the "how" behind Apify will make you infinitely more effective at selling the "why."
What we expect from you in the first 6 months:
You’ll start as an individual contributor reporting to our Head of Performance Marketing. Your first goal is to immerse yourself in the Apify product and our data stack. You won't just be tweaking bids; you need to understand what we're selling to build campaigns that people actually click on. You'll quickly take over the day-to-day management of specific ad channels while identifying low-hanging fruit for optimization.
This role requires regular communication with multiple stakeholders across Apify. You'll work closely with many teams, including Social media managers, Product marketing managers, and others. You should spend most of your onboarding in the Prague office to meet everyone and build relationships.
By the end of the first month, we expect you to:
Complete the general onboarding plan.
Audit our current ad accounts to understand our account structure, bidding strategies, and historical performance. You'll present a "Quick Wins" list to the Head of Performance.
Build a functional automation workflow using one of Apify’s Actors. You need to feel the "Aha!" moment of scraping data to market it to others effectively.
Meet all relevant stakeholders (Design, Content, and PMM team) to understand how we currently produce ad creatives and landing pages.
Master our data stack. You know where to find and interpret data on CAC, LTV, and attribution in our analytics tools, so you can answer questions like: Which campaign drove the highest quality sign-ups last week?
By the end of the first 3 months, we expect you to:
Take full ownership of day-to-day management for your assigned channels, managing the budget pacing and bid adjustments independently.
Launch your first structured A/B test (either on ad creative or a landing page) and present the results with statistical significance to the team.
Deepen your product knowledge. You understand the difference between our various pricing tiers and customer segments and have adjusted campaign targeting to reflect this.
Get the creative pipeline flowing. You work smoothly with the Design/Video/PMM team and always have fresh ad creatives ready to test.
By the end of the first 6 months, we expect you to:
Demonstrate a measurable improvement in your channels - whether that’s lowering CAC, increasing conversion volume, or improving the "Lead-to-Customer" ratio.
Launch a pilot on a new channel. You have identified, set up, and launched a test on a previously untapped source (e.g. Reddit, a newsletter sponsorship, or a new video network) to find incremental growth.
Contribute to the attribution model. You are actively providing feedback to the Data team on how to improve our tracking and attribution accuracy.
Manage budget pacing with 95%+ accuracy, ensuring we're maximizing spend efficiency without overspending or underspending at the end of the quarter.
