Finance Ops Lead - Armz (Prague)
We're not looking for someone who just books invoices and calls it a day.
We need someone who gets excited about building financial controls from scratch, wiring automation into real workflows, and keeping outsourced teams (payroll, bookkeeping, tax) sharp and on schedule. Someone who wants full visibility into where every euro lands - and will actually build the systems to make that happen.
Heads up - things aren't perfectly tidy yet. You'll clean up before you build.
About Armz
Armz is a workforce provider for warehousing - think large-scale fulfillment for global e-commerce players. We move fast, we're growing across Germany and the Czech Republic, and our finance function needs to grow with us. This is a hands-on role where you'll set up our financial ecosystem from the ground up, not just maintain someone else's.
What you'll do
- Audit and clean up existing payment processes, recover missing documentation, and establish budget approval policies where none currently exist
- Own the full finance operations stack: design approval flows, automate payment runs, standardize reconciliations
- Enforce spending discipline across the org - you'll have the mandate to say no and require pre-approval for all non-payroll spend
- Act as the single point of contact for all outsourced finance partners (payroll, bookkeeping, tax) in DE and CZ
- Work with our tech and ops teams to plug finance into our ERP and internal tools - approvals, fleet/housing costs, dashboards
- Deliver a monthly reporting pack: P&L, cashflow, AR/AP, profitability by client and site
- Run a tight payment calendar, keep vendor master data clean, ensure every non-payroll spend is pre-approved with an audit trail
- Reach for AI tools and smart automation rather than headcount to scale
- Scale the team (starting with one administrative assistant) - you own outcomes, delegate execution smartly
What we're looking for
- Proven hands-on experience in controlling or finance operations
- Strong spreadsheet skills, comfortable with BI tools (Power BI, Looker, Tableau or similar)
- Experience tightening financial controls in a fast-growing or loosely structured environment
- Process-minded - you document, standardize, then automate
- Confident communicator with accountants, payroll providers, and tax advisors
- Comfortable pushing back on stakeholders when spending doesn't follow process
- Comfortable with AI tools, OCR, and workflow automation - this is expected, not optional
- Excellent English; Czech or German is a serious plus
