Staff Platform Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a Staff Platform Infrastructure Engineer specializing in graph databases, our Platform Infrastructure team and play a crucial role in building and scaling essential infrastructure services for our development teams. You will collaborate with other infrastructure engineers and application teams to deliver a reliable and high-performance platform that empowers them to build innovative and data-driven applications.
The Staff Platform Infrastructure Engineer at Collibra is responsible for
- Lead the technical design and architecture of platform services, with a focus on networking, service mesh (Istio), and service-to-service communication.
- Design, develop, and manage Kubernetes Operators in Golang, custom tooling, and our Istio service mesh to automate and enhance platform capabilities.
- Partner with product teams to co-design infrastructure solutions that improve velocity and reliability while efficiently serving our developers.
- Engineer the platform's use of our observability stack (metrics, logs, traces), define SLOs, and implement DevSecOps best practices, including WAF configuration and management.
- Mentor other engineers, champion technical excellence, and drive cloud cost optimization through automation.
You have
- Production experience managing infrastructure on a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes and service mesh technologies (preferably Istio).
- Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPCs, routing, load balancing, WAFs, network policies).
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and operational tooling in Golang.
- Experience supporting stateful applications like GraphDB and / or Kafka.
- Familiarity with cloud security principles (IAM, security groups).
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience.
