Experiments Developer in a Global AI/Music Tech Startup
Who we are
AIMS is a music-tech scale up providing game-changing AI-powered software for music search & discovery. We work with the world’s biggest and most innovative music and media companies — including Warner Chappell PM, Universal PM, Concord and many more. We’re entirely self-funded and profitable, operating as a remote-first team of music and tech lovers based all over the world.
Our story has been featured in Forbes and CzechCrunch.
About the role
You'll work in a small, fast-moving experiments team paired with a music expert. They bring the hypothesis and evaluate the result; you build, ship, and iterate. The loop is short and the feedback is direct — no PMs, no Jira swamps, no waiting two weeks to learn whether the thing works.
You'll also build the internal tooling the team uses to evaluate AI-powered search features before they go to production: querying data, scoring results, visualising similarity, making it possible to tell good from bad at a glance.
What we use
React, Next.js, TypeScript, Go, Google Cloud Platform, PgSQL, Elastic, Redis...
You'll fit right in if you:
- Are comfortable being given a hypothesis and a question and owning the build from there - you'd rather figure out the spec than wait for one
- Are comfortable with data-heavy work: querying, scoring and visualising search results
- Are fluent with React (Next.js) and TypeScript on the frontend
- Are comfortable with the backend (Node, Go (most of our stack is Go and you'll be happier if you can read and write it))
- Use AI coding assistants well — both the speed and the taste. You ship faster with them, and you know when to put them down and think
- Communicate honestly and directly. We don't do corporate.
- Have English skills good enough to be able to talk to your English-speaking colleagues (you're probably fine if you've come this far 🙂)
Nice-to-haves:
- Familiarity with music metadata, search systems, or information retrieval
- You've built internal tooling before - dashboards, eval harnesses, anything that helped a team see their data
- UX/UI sensibility (the tools you build will be used by non-engineers)
- You like music :)
What we offer
- Competitive salary, based on your skills and experience
- A short path from idea to production
- Friendly teammates (we won't even judge you if you use tabs for indentation)
- Opportunity to learn more about machine learning and AI
- Both on-site and remote work possible (our office is in Prague 7 - Letná)
