Join a dedicated engineering team managing a robust, high-performance REST API that has been in active development for over six years. 💻 Role 💪
As a Senior Developer, you will be a key architect of our API’s evolution. You will bridge the gap between complex business requirements and high-performance technical execution. You will take full ownership of the feature lifecycle—from designing the initial REST contract and integrating third-party APIs, all the way down to optimizing the final SQL execution plan.
🤓 What you’ll be doing:
API Architecture & Design: Design, implement, and document robust RESTful endpoints that serve as the reliable backbone of our POS platform.
Domain Logic: Translate complex business requirements into clean, testable, and maintainable Kotlin code within the Spring Boot ecosystem.
Data Layer Excellence: Leverage jOOQ to build type-safe SQL queries, analyze execution plans, and rigorously optimize database performance.
Cloud & CI/CD: Orchestrate automated deployments via GitHub Actions and help maintain our cloud infrastructure within AWS.
Smart Workflow: Utilize AI developer tools to augment your coding speed while maintaining strict personal standards for code quality and system architecture.
Occasional Side Quests: Most of your time lives in Kotlin and Spring Boot, but now and then you'll touch a Node.js Lambda or tweak a Python script to keep our internal tooling running smoothly.
💚 What We’re Looking For 👽
The Tech Stack: Strong, production-level proficiency in Kotlin, Spring Boot, and the Gradle ecosystem. (Note: Java experts eager to transition fully to Kotlin are highly encouraged to apply).
Data Mastery: You speak fluent SQL, understand relational database mechanics under the hood, and have experience with jOOQ (or a strong engineering desire to master it).
Cloud Fluency: You are comfortable navigating AWS services and understand modern CI/CD principles (we use GitHub Actions).
Pragmatic Engineering: You understand that managing a mature, 6-year-old codebase requires a healthy balance between "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and "let's strategically refactor this for the future."
Adaptability: You possess a proactive, "can-do" attitude toward secondary languages and scripting (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Bash).
