Founding Data Lead (R&D)
The Mission
FaceUp is one of the world's leading anonymous reporting and whistleblowing platforms. Since 2017, we've been building trust and transparency in organizations worldwide - from schools combating bullying to Fortune 500 companies ensuring compliance and ethical culture. Today, our B2B SaaS platform serves 3,500+ organizations across 70 countries, processing over 25,000 reports while maintaining the highest standards of data protection (ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2). We're growing rapidly and need a Data professional to build a base for our data-driven decisions. 🚀
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Data Analyst / Engineer (2in1) to join FaceUp Research and Development team. As our first Data hire, you will have a "blank canvas" to design, build, and scale our entire data ecosystem from the ground up. You will bridge the gap between our raw R&D data and actionable product insights. This is a high-impact role where you will choose the tools, build the pipelines, and define the data culture of our company.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Architecture: Evaluate and select our core data stack (storage, ETL/ELT, and BI tools).
Data Engineering: Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to consolidate fragmented data from our SaaS platform, CRM, and third-party tools.
Data Modeling: Design and implement a clean, unified data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) that serves as the single source of truth.
Analytics & Visualization: Build intuitive dashboards that help the Product team track KPIs, user behavior, and feature performance.
Deep-Dive Analysis: Perform exploratory data analysis to identify churn risks, upsell opportunities, and product bottlenecks.
Data Evangelism & Literacy: Act as the primary advocate for a data-informed culture. You will democratize data by training colleagues on self-service tools, helping teams with interpretation of more complex data problems, and ensuring data insights are a standard part of (not only) R&D decision-making.
What We're Looking For 🎯
The "Full-Stack" Data Skillset: You have strong SQL expertise (we use PostgreSQL) and the ability to write high-performance, production-ready queries.
Programming & Analytics (Python): You are proficient in Python for data analysis, automation, and modeling, with hands-on experience using libraries such as pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, and scikit-learn.
Data Infrastructure: You have experience working with cloud-based data solutions, specifically AWS RDS for data storage and management, and a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts.
Pipeline Mastery: You're proficient in data orchestration and transformation tools such as (e.g., AWS Glue, dbt, Airflow etc).
B2B SaaS Context: You’re familiar with key SaaS metrics like MRR, Churn, DAU/MAU, and Retention Funnels.
Tool Agnostic: You select the right tool for the task at hand, prioritizing cost-effectiveness, scalability, and speed. At FaceUp, we leverage a diverse array of tools to manage our data, including Posthog, Semrush, GA4, Collabim, Smartlook, HubSpot and Chargebee. We use Looker studio for visualization.
Who You Are
A Builder: You enjoy the "0 to 1" phase. You don't need a manual; you write it.
Prioritizer: In a team of one, you know how to distinguish "must-have" infrastructure from "nice-to-have" features.
Communicator: You can translate complex data findings into plain English for stakeholders, customer-facing teams and engineers alike.
Why Join FaceUp R&D Team?
Ownership: Total autonomy over the data roadmap.
Impact: Your work will directly influence product development and company strategy.
Growth: As the company grows, you will have the opportunity to build and lead the future data team.
