About this role
Join our engineering team in building a healthcare platform that transforms care delivery for 12.5 million Americans. As a Software Engineer/Full-Stack Developer, you'll collaborate with our team of 8 developers to architect and develop both frontend and backend solutions. Working across our entire technology stack — from backend services (Java, Kotlin, Node.js) to modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js, Flutter) — you'll help redefine the healthcare experience. You'll also work on our Benefits AI Agent (LangChain, LangGraph), a cutting-edge initiative helping members navigate their healthcare benefits in real time.
A day in the Life…
Understand business requirements and the scope of deliverables
Design, architect, and plan the delivery of proposed features using microservice- and micro-frontend-oriented architectures
Implement new features on both the front end (web SPA, MFE) and back-end services deployed in AWS, using modern technologies and best practices
Contribute to our Benefits AI Agent, applying agentic AI to help members navigate their healthcare benefits
Help own the Flutter MFE for a mobile-native benefits experience for our members (new technology for the team)
Take end-to-end ownership of features, including test coverage, observability, troubleshooting, and on-call support
Leverage recent AI tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) to solve problems and boost productivity
Work with US-based stakeholders (product, UI/UX designers) and cross-team engineering partners to deliver quality products to our members
Participate in agile ceremonies (planning, standups, retros)
What we are looking for ...
Required:
Experience building modern SPA applications using React, Vue.js, and Node.js, or a strong willingness to learn
Solid experience architecting, designing, and developing scalable microservice solutions
Proficiency in Java/Kotlin and the Spring Framework
Working knowledge of relational database systems (NoSQL is advantageous)
Demonstrated passion for writing unit, integration, and performance tests
Experience and/or willingness to work in a highly agile, collaborative, innovative, and flexible environment embracing modern DevOps culture
Motivated, detail-oriented quick learner who isn't afraid to step outside their comfort zone and can grasp complex challenges
Respectful collaborator and team player
Nice to have:
Experience with mobile cross-platform development (Flutter)
Hands-on experience with AWS (or other cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure)
Experience building AI agents or agentic workflows, including familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol), RAG pipelines, LangChain/LangGraph, or hands-on use of modern AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor)
