🖤💛 Senior Platform / DevOps Engineer (Developer Experience) 🚀

At signageOS, we build a platform that powers digital signage networks around the world. Our software runs on thousands of devices across different hardware vendors and operating systems, helping customers manage large-scale display networks from a single platform.

We’re looking for a senior Platform / DevOps Engineer with a strong Developer Experience mindset.

This isn’t a traditional DevOps role focused on production operations. Your customers will be our developers. You’ll build and improve the internal platform, developer tooling, automation, and CI/CD pipelines that help engineering teams work faster, with less friction and fewer manual steps.

Your Mission

Your customers will be our developers - your colleagues across multiple engineering teams.

Your goal is simple: make engineering easier.

You’ll identify bottlenecks, automate repetitive work, improve developer tooling, and build systems that help engineers spend less time fighting their environment and more time building great software.

This role is highly collaborative. You’ll work closely with multiple engineering teams to understand their day-to-day challenges and build solutions that improve how they work. Because of this, we prefer engineers who enjoy spending at least three days a week working onsite with the team in our Prague office.

What You’ll Work On

• Improving GitLab CI/CD pipelines and related tooling
• Making development environments more reliable and easier to work with
• Automating repetitive processes and manual tasks
• Managing system upgrades and security updates
• Building internal tools and services for engineering teams
• Creating CLI utilities, dashboards, and self-service interfaces
• Removing technical blockers and reducing day-to-day friction for developers

Examples of Problems You’ll Solve

• Pipelines take longer than they should and slow down feedback loops
• Builds or tests fail intermittently without an obvious root cause
• Development environments are difficult to set up or maintain
• Manual steps exist where automation should
• Teams are missing tools that would save them time
• Developers lack visibility into the systems they use every day
• Things technically work, but create unnecessary friction that adds up over time

• Developers spend less time waiting and more time building
• New projects and environments come online faster
• Fewer processes require manual intervention
• Builds, tests, and deployments become more reliable
• Teams encounter fewer blockers
• Problems get solved systematically instead of repeatedly

Every improvement you make will be multiplied across dozens of engineers.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who has already spent several years solving these kinds of engineering problems.

Your background might include:

• Platform Engineering
• DevOps
• Site Reliability Engineering
• Backend Engineering with infrastructure experience
• Developer Experience

More important than a specific job title is a strong senior-level technical background, extensive hands-on experience in similar roles, and a mindset focused on understanding root causes, improving systems, and making other engineers more productive.

Practical Information

• Modern office in Prague 6 (Evropská 11) with underground parking available in the building.
• Hybrid setup - we prefer at least 3 days per week onsite
