Python backend developer in Space and Precision Agriculture
At World from Space, we are pioneers in utilizing satellite data for agricultural, sustainability, and environmental monitoring purposes. Our innovative services have been adopted by clients from the World Bank to Mexican farmers, and the city of Brno. We are also thrilled to be in the process of building the Czech national satellite AMBIC and data tools for a future Moon mission LUGO.
We actively collaborate with software companies, environmental consultants, and organizations like the European Space Agency (ESA) or the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA). Additionally, we actively participate in research projects with prestigious international institutions.
We are currently seeking an agile junior/ medior developer who likes having a huge impact on a medium-sized software project (DynaCrop) and working on the most interesting functionalities based on direct feedback from farmers and other customers.
DynaCrop serves farmers in over 20 countries and provides software solutions for precision farming. We develop and validate our system with the help of innovative farmers and agricultural universities. In addition to farming, we are currently expanding into forestry.
This will keep you busy:
- Designing and developing software for satellite image and weather data processing
- Management of AWS cloud architecture
- Improving and maintaining internal design of our Python services
- Maintaining the system's operational use
- Developing new features for the core of our system

Qualifications we need from you
- Software design and programming skills
- Python language
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Pro-active approach to challenges
- English B2-C1
- University degree in computer science OR 2 years of experience in software development
Nice to have
- AI-first mindset and experience with LLM-based coding (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code)
- Experience with the cloud (AWS), designing cloud-native apps
- Experience with system monitoring and observability
- Experience with geospatial or computer vision domains, and scientific libraries (e.g., numpy, scikit-learn, openCV, pandas)
