We develop a platform for Video Relay Service and Video Remote Interpreting. It gives Deaf people immediate access to sign language interpreters, so they can call a doctor, a bank or a friend much like hearing people do. National services in 10 countries run on our platform.
Deafcom is a Prague software company that builds the platform behind national relay and interpreting services for Deaf people. A Deaf user opens our app or web, connects by video to a sign language interpreter within moments, and the interpreter voices the conversation to a hearing person on a regular phone call. The same platform runs remote interpreting for banks, telecoms, insurers, hospitals and government institutions.
Today national services in 10 countries run on the platform, and new countries are being added. Next year more than 200,000 interpreting sessions will go through it. Each country runs its own instance with its own language, rules and integrations, so there is always a new project to deliver.
We are a small team, and decisions are quick. Our office is in the centre of Prague on Na Poříčí, and remote work is normal for us. We are an AI-first company. AI is part of how we write code, test, support clients and run the business, and everyone on the team uses it every day.
The work matters to the people who use it. For many Deaf people, our platform is how they make a phone call, book a doctor, or deal with a bank without asking someone else for help.
