Python AI Developer

FifthRow is looking for a backend developer who shares our passion for clean, maintainable code. Someone who shows an ability and keenness for unit testing and can put into practice DRY and SOLID principles.

Our platform enables customers to:

• Spin up custom research agents and workflows
• Analyze unstructured data (web, PDFs, conversations)
• Generate strategic outputs: memos, decks, summaries, forecasts
• Operate entire innovation, diligence, and strategy workflows

We’re already working with global enterprises to automate use cases like investment memos, innovation scouting, market entry strategy, LP reports, and more — all using agent workflows that orchestrate LLMs, tools, and business logic.

What You’ll Build

As a member of the development team, you will work to turn FifthRow into the core operating system for enterprise knowledge work.

The product includes:

• A Flow builder – autogeneration of agent chains and instructions within them
• Real-time agent orchestration, with memory, context routing, and judgment
• A suite of Apps that handle repeatable, high-value workflows (e.g., regulatory tracking, venture research)
• Outputs that integrate with email, PowerPoint, PDFs, internal systems, and customer CRMs

Under the hood, we use Next.js, Python, LangChain, OpenAI, AWS (SQS), and PGVector — but we’re open to better ideas and faster ways of scaling.

What we are looking for:

• Solid experience with Python3
• Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs in Python
• Experience with OAuth2 and communication with REST APIs in Python
• Extensive experience with interacting with LLMs, such as ChatGPT
• Knowledge of Langchain/Langraph
• Familiarity with advanced prompting techniques and common RAG strategies
• Experience with evaluation frameworks and assessing AI performance
• Knowledge of LLM agents and tools
• Knowledge of Git
• An obsession with performance
• Solid experience working in Agile development teams
• Experience with relational databases
• Knowledge of AWS is a plus
• Experience with libraries FastAPI, SQLAlchemy is a plus
• Experience with Document DB - (Mongo, DynamoDB) is a plus
