SalesChamp introduced us Vincent

What are you working on?
We are crafting an app that will revolutionize direct sales (door-to-door, telephony and field marketing). By integrating sales channels companies can finally dive into data collected through various means and media. To be concrete: whether you talk to a potential client on the phone, in the street or visit him/her as an account manager, SalesChamp provides a unified way to collect data and act on it.
What’s more: we don’t believe that providing pretty reports for management is enough. We believe that you need to empower the person actually doing the work: the sales agent. If you can make his or her life easier and make him/her feel happier about the job, ever body wins.
Why did you start the company, what was your inspiration?
For some reason companies in the direct sales industry never made the leap to digital. They were still stuck in the stone age, using pen and paper. Seldom do you get the opportunity to push an industry forward this much.
A perfect example of this is gamification. Sales is a competitive workfield by nature. So why is no one applying game mechanics yet?
Can you share any interesting internal information?
We use a lot of different technologies, both on the server-side as on the client-side. Not for the sake of it, but because we acutally need to. Building a web app is never easy.
Building a web app that’s real-time and scalable, allows for flexible integrating, generates and e-mails signed PDF contracts, schedule meetings and rewards users with badges, achievements and a score on the leaderboard is hard.
What’s the biggest success of SalesChamp?
We are piloting our software with Vodafone :)
What are your plans for the future?
World domination of course! What else?
On a more serious note: we hope to improve the way companies do and think about sales. From our view CRM systems helped data collection and defining follow-up actions, but it never really fit in the mobile environment of direct sales. Our app is specifically tailored for that industry.
During the design & development of our product we constantly and zealously focused on the actual user (the sales agent), not just the manager. This is something that no other company providing sales software seems to be doing. Their reports are eye-candy, their user experience is horrible.
Can you introduce people working in SalesChamp? What kind of people are you looking for?
When you look at the members in our team we’re split in two parts. Martin, Marián and Vincent are working on the product development. They are constantly working on polishing the app’s features and defining the roadmap for future development.
Then there’s the Dutch team who is responsible for the commercial exploitation. Luuk, Sylvie and Steven are handling sales, support and defining the roadmap from a commercial point-of-view. They are the ones making sure our clients are happy.
Together as a group we are a bunch of passionate and driven people. We love challenges. We love tinkering with technology. But above all: we love to deliver and make a dent in this world of ours.
And we are looking for pragmatic people who share this attitude and know what it takes to get the job done.
Is working in SalesChamp different than working in other companies? How?
Working in any company is a bit different than another.
What’s maybe different about us is that we have been working remotely from day 1 (we have offices in Brno and Haarlem, NL but also have people in other locations), allow for a lot of freedom, are as much technical as we are business and above all: young (our average age is 26).
And our job benefits of course, of which the possiblity to attain a share stands out the most.
What do you consider to be the most important thing you are looking for when hiring new people?
The single-most important thing I look for when hiring is to find someone who shares our passion. Who simply “gets it”. Of course people need to be skilled, but the special glinster in their eyes is the first filter.
Any notes, recoomendations you’d like to share?
I’ll just finish with MailChimp’s mantra: love what you do.
