We are looking for junior and senior C++ engineers to expand our team developing an open source software for driving our fused filament 3D printers. Depending on your expertise and a willingness to learn, you will be working on the path planning geometric core, on 3D visualization and scene manipulation, on user interface and configuration layer, you will keep the build servers working etc. You will also work closely with the open source community and you will be in touch with our customers.
Who are we?
We are a rapidly growing company, designing and building world-class fused filament 3D printers. The open hardware Prusa i3 design by the Prusa Research founder Josef Prusa is likely the most cloned 3D printer design ever, and our Prusa i3 MK2 and MK2S are highly praised by our customers and independent reviewers, being evaluated as the best budget 3D printer worldwide by 3DHubs.com, and the best desktop 3D printer by the Make magazine. We are currently shipping around 5k 3D printer kits a month, and our upcoming MK3 model is loaded with unique features, giving us a competitive lead. To see our R&D highlights, please check http://prusaprinters.org/.
Our goal is to make the 3D printing technology accessible to the masses. As of now, the state of the art is far from our goal, as it asks for a lot of hard-learned expertise to make most of the fused filament technology. To make the technology accessible to your kids and your grandma, you will help us to integrate all the expert knowledge we collected over the years into our open source software. Apart from that, we believe that the software is the key a successful application of multi-color and multi-material printing, which both are still in their infancy.
Who are we looking for?
You should be reliable and self-motivated, eagerly accepting a challenge and working it up to a success. You should be naturally curious and eager to learn new things not limited to software engineering.
What skills should you have?
